Successfully Completed First Day of the ELIX Project Meeting at UNM Today, 23/03/2026, marked the first day of the meeting within the project ELIX: European labour mobility-led Career and Service-Learning System in Higher Education, hosted at the University of Novo Mesto. The event brought together 18 students and representatives from Slovenia, Slovakia, Greece, Serbia, and Austria. As part of the programme, the first student workshop taking place in Slovenia was also held, titled Ethical Decision-Making, Critical Thinking, Empathy, and Diversity, led by Prof. Dr. Karmen Erjavec. During the workshop, participants develop key competencies for responsible engagement in contemporary society, with a focus on understanding ethical decision-making, the role of empathy, and the importance of critical thinking in everyday choices. Through interactive activities and reflection, students strengthen their self-awareness, their ability to evaluate information, and their understanding of social challenges such as inequality, discrimination, and social exclusion. The workshop promotes appreciation of diversity, respect for others, and the active role of individuals in creating a more just and inclusive society.

From Ideas to Action: Second Day of the ELIX Project at UNM The University of Novo mesto hosted the second day (24/03/2026) of the international ELIX project meeting: European labour mobility-led Career and Service-Learning System in Higher Education, bringing together students and partners from several European countries. Participants focused on identifying current social challenges and engaging with various stakeholders, which represents an important step toward developing concrete solutions within the Service-Learning framework that connects academic knowledge with societal needs. As part of the programme, students worked in groups to develop micro CSL projects, designing ideas to address contemporary social issues. Special emphasis was placed on planning pilot activities and considering their implementation in real-world environments. The workshops were led by Assist. Prof. Mojca Blažič, PhD, who guided participants through interactive methods, discussions, and idea exchange, while supporting the development of key competencies such as teamwork, project planning, and social responsibility. The day concluded in a relaxed atmosphere with informal networking, further fostering intercultural exchange and collaboration among participants.

Successfully Completed the Final Day of the ELIX Project Meeting at UNM. The third and final day (25/03/2026) of the ELIX project meeting at the University of Novo Mesto focused on reflection, evaluation, and future engagement. Participants concluded the intensive programme by consolidating knowledge and preparing for continued involvement in community-oriented activities. The day began with presentation preparation, where students worked collaboratively to structure and present their ideas. This was followed by a session on critical thinking and personal reflection, encouraging participants to evaluate their learning experiences and personal development throughout the workshop. In the afternoon, students focused on planning their personal community engagement, translating acquired competencies into concrete actions within their local environments. The programme concluded with a transition to practice session and a final evaluation, where participants reflected on outcomes, shared feedback, and discussed future opportunities within the ELIX project. The final day highlighted the importance of reflection as a key component of learning and reinforced the role of active, responsible individuals in fostering inclusive and socially engaged communities.
